This idea of a bug-out bike is not a terrible idea, but I take exception to the cart. This guy has WAAAY too much stuff with him for starters, and the cart enables him to keep piling it in. Carts break. What is this guy gonna do with a broken cart? Can he carry 8 packs at once without it? I didn’t even see hip-belts on either of his tiny little “bug-out” bags. He doesn’t have a large enough bag to consolidate his necessities in WHEN his cart breaks. I didn’t even hear him mention a bike repair kit or spare tire/tube. If this guy thinks he can get away from everyone on a path that supports a bike car with 100+ lbs of gear in it, he is fooling himself. Why does he have 6 days of water with him? WTF? How about some purification tabs or a little bottle of bleach or a water filter? He needs to pack a lot lighter and rely on knowledge and practiced skills (which weigh nothing) rather than stuffing a fragile, extremely limiting cart full of unnecessary dead weight. …Not to mention setting a goal destination that is far enough away to offer clean water and fish/bush meat. …I could go on.
