Fanchem Distributes Hazardous Fluoride to be Put into Drinking Water

On a Canadian government website Fanchem Ltd. company’s description and service name is described as:

HAZARDOUS WASTE TRANSPORTATION OF CHEMICALS IN CANADA AND TO THE USA. SALES AND MARKETING OFFICE FOR IRON SALTS, HYDROCHLORIC AND SULPHURIC ACID AND CAUSTIC SODA.

Hazmat describes Fanchem as “Hazardous/Non-Hazardous Waste Treatment” and “Transportation & TDG Products/Services.” They are located at 3228 South Service Rd. Suite-207 Burlington, Ontario. Further research shows that Fanchem is a daughter company to a bigger company called PVS Chemicals Inc. located in 10900 Harper Avenue Detroit, MI, USA. On the PVS website history section it writes “PVS becomes an international concern in 1975 with the formation of a wholly-owned Canadian subsidiary, Fanchem Ltd.” and it is in 1975 that Fanchem Ltd. was incorporated. Fanchem doesn’t have their own website.

Essentially they are a company that takes hazardous waste from other companies for the purposes of disposing them and they also sell and transport hazardous materials to companies to be used in many ways. For instance hydrochloric acid is used by companies in the production of chlorides, fertilizers, dyes, in electroplating, and in the photographic, textile, and rubber industries.

The Canadian Awareness Network was informed by a source that Fanchem Ltd. distributes and transports hydrofluorosilicic acid to the Woodward water treatment plant in Hamilton Ontario for the purposes of water fluoridation. This source claims they received the info from the City of Hamilton’s Water Department.

Hydrofluorosilicic acid is not listed on (Fanchem’s) PVS Chemical’s website but sodium silicofluoride, potassium fluoride and other fluoride products show up in their Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) browser. But to verify a phone call to Fanchem validates that they distribute and deliver hydrofluorosilicic acid to Woodward Water Treatment plant in Hamilton, which can be heard by clicking play below:

So PVS Chemicals or “Fanchem” offers a service and collects the hydrofluorosilicic acid from companies in the phosphate fertilizer industry. The hydrofluorosilicic acid is a hazardous waste by-product in the phosphate fertilizer production. Once they collect it from various companies they then distribute it to water treatment plants for the purposes of water fluoridation.

The MSDS for hydrofluorosilicic acid writes that it’s WHMIS number is 00060388 and it shows the WHMIS symbols which inform that it is poisonous and corrosive. In the state of Illinois of the USA, there was a tanker truck that was delivering the acid to a water treatment plant and accidentally spilled it on the concreate. Hazmag crew had to wear heavy duty PPE to clean up the hazardous waste because it is so corrosive it ate through the concreate.

The MSDS also states it is used in the glass manufacturing industry and it’s chemical family is categorized as Inorganic Acid, meaning Inorganic Fluoride. Under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act the government recognizes that inorganic fluorides are toxic substances.

Environment Canada in conjunction with Health Canada in their report released in 1993 they both recognize that inorganic fluorides can be harmful to human bones, aquatic life and the environment. Health Canada’s “Department of Health” of Dr. Cooper’s office say that 1.5 ppm of inorganic fluorides such as hydrofluorosilicic acid, sodium silicofluoride and sodium fluoride are safe and beneficial to human health despite of countless scientific studies that suggest fluorides contribute to the pandemic of developmental neurotoxicity as it reduces IQ. Studies such as from Harvard University and from Lancet Neurology.

The MSDS states that:

Fluoride is a bone seeker, and excessive amounts will produce weakening and degeneration of the bone structure. Chronic exposure may cause excess accumulation of fluorine (fluorosis) in the teeth and bones. Severe fluorosis in children weakens tooth namel resulting in surface pitting. After prolonged high intake in adults bony changes occur characterized by hardening or abnormal density of bone (osteosclerosis), benign bony growths projecting outward from the surface of the bone (exostoses) and calcification of ligaments, tendons, and muscle attachments to bone. Ingestion and skin contact may cause an abnormal reduction of blood calcium (hypocalcemia) and kidney damage since fluorides precipitate calcium stored in the body.
It basically means that fluorides are a bone seeker, so whether or not the individual is ingesting 0.5 ppm or 1.5 ppm over time it bio-accumulates in the bones which results in bone diseases. A company that manufactures hydrofluorosilicic acid is known as Mosaic, and according to their quality certificate of that product it is contaminated with arsenic. Clinical Toxicology of Commercial Products 5th edition lists fluoride is more poisonous than lead and slightly less poisonous than arsenic. It also lists sodium fluoride as a pesticide.

So there you have it, Fanchem is a company that takes hazardous waste by-product from phosphate fertilizer production and then delivers it right to Hamilton’s tap water. They deliver toxic inorganic fluorides to water treatment plants from Nova Scotia to Alberta.

It is important to note that hydrofluorosilicic acid is not listed as a drug under the Food and Drugs Act but as mentioned earlier it is listed as a toxic substance under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.

Do these companies really have the best interest of the general public? Fanchem’s mother company CVS Chemicals Inc was fined for dumping chemicals and drugs into Connecticut’s waste water in 2010 and are profiting off of delivering hazardous waste to be put into the drinking water supply. You decide.
