Hamilton Police Announce Limited Gun Amnesty Program

Hamilton police services has announced that they are launching a gun amnesty program for the month of April.

The program is called “Spring Clean Up 2014″ and is running from April 7th until May 2nd.

Deputy police Chief Ken Leendertse is saying that the program is not linked to the recent increase of gun violence in the city, or to any operational issues.

The program is meant for people who inherit and/or possess firearms that they no linger want. But do not have the permits to transport or dispose of them properly.

Hamilton police service ran a gun amnesty program in 2006, which they say took 1,200 firearms “off of the streets”.

Unlike the 2006 program, guns and ammunition cannot be turned into any police stations. People will have to call a police phone number and then have officers come to their premises to collect the firearms.

Main stream news outlets have been stating that this amnesty program is “no questions asked”. But that is not what is stated in the report on the program, that was provided at the March 17 police board meeting.

As you can see the report clearly states “This allows people to dispose of their unwanted firearms with limited immunity to certain possession offences, and further reducing the risk of having these stolen from their residences and used for criminal purposes”

Hardly seems like “no questions asked”. The report also asked for pellet guns and replica guns to be handed in.

My only question is, what is next? An limited amnesty program for knives? Or maybe baseball bats?

Everyone guns or no one guns, equality demands nothing less. A small increase in crime would make no difference compared to what we currently live under. It’s obvious that the justice system is a legal monopoly backed by the monopoly on force and is nothing short of Cabal rule. Keep your guns, you will need them sooner then you think.
