Police Chief Glenn DeCaire Told To Resign Immediately

At the March 17 2014 Hamilton police board meeting, Norm Dorr breaks down the violations that have been committed under Hamilton police chief Glenn DeCaire’s watch. Norm then tells the chief to resign immediately.

Glenn tries to brush the demand off by promoting awards that other officers had just been given and after a council member tells the audience to show respect. People in the audience decide to speak their minds.

  1. Thanks Ron. I moved to Hamilton 9 years ago & the Chief has cleaned this city up so much in his time here. Much better than Mullen. He is making policing right again.

  2. 2 Rons??? With the same point of view…. :)

  3. Keep up the good work Chief DeCaire. Maybe if these idiots would pull their heads out of their asses they might just see what good you have done for Hamilton.

  4. Exactly. Arrested in Hamilton on a Canada wide warrant. And he was cooperative. What’s your point?

lol. Clifford was wanted our west…..retard! Get your facts straight.

  7. How about when the chief allowed Hamilton Police officers to participate in an un-warranted kidnapping of Dean Clifford on Nov.24th from the Mariott Courtyard.(that’s right - no warrant - no cause - no injury - just outright kidnapping). See www.deanclifford.info for a dose of truth.

  8. What point did Norm actually make?
He just said that the Chief actually charged Mellor and the other officer…. isn’t that a good thing?

And yes there were 5 shootings…did the Chief shoot anyone?
There was an SIU investigation (which doesn’t involve the Chief) where all officers were cleared. An inquest into all but the Mesic shooting (coming soon)… where anyone can ask questions to the officers… Nothing note-worthy came from any Inquest - except police are not allowed to shoot at moving vehicles - sure.
And there is an OIPRD investigation into each shooting….nothing coming from any of these.
It’s a point that I think people need to realize. When a person makes a bad decision, and attacks the police with a weapon, they will likely get shot, and die from their wounds. The circumstances around these shootings are complex and not as black and white as people might think they are. If you want black and white here - Police are trained to shoot at suspects with weapons when there is no time or choice for another option. Plain and simple for you.

So… what is so bad about the Chief? he holds “secret” meetings? There are somethings the public just shouldn’t know - these are discussed in secret.
