Canada Revenue Auditing Environmental Groups
It has come to light recently, that the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) has started to audit seven of Canada’s “most prominent” environmental groups. Here is a list of the groups being audited:
- The David Suzuki Foundation
- Tides Canada
- West Coast Environmental Law
- The Pembina Foundation
- Environmental Defence
- Equiterre
- Ecology Action Centre
Many in the main stream and in the activist communities are seeing this as a further attack on environmentalism, by the federal government.
The vancouverobserver.com is reporting that Finance Minister Jim Flaherty cites terrorism when asked why CRA is auditing environmental charities.
Which is very misleading, Flarherty is quoted in the article as saying ““We don’t choose who is audited by the CRA (Canada Revenue Agency). That’s up to the CRA,” Flaherty said. “We do give policy direction; and one of the policy directions is that charities are not to be permitted to accept money from terrorist organizations, in Canada”.”
And ““I don’t audit – the CRA audits. And there is a rule that the CRA follows about the percentage that is permitted to be used for work that is not directly charitable””

In fact neither Stephen Harper or Jim Flaherty do not have any decision making powers in who the CRA audits or does not audit.
Under Canadian law, charities are allowed to use 10 per cent of their resources for political activity or advocacy, but the guidelines are clear that it cannot be partisan activity. These audits are a result of a complaint filed by Ethical Oil. A pro oil sands NGO.
Although the above mentioned charities and activists do not like the idea of being audited because a oil group filed a complaint. The CRA is following their rules, and Canadian law is being upheld.
I will say this right now. I personally do not agree with most of the federal income tax act. We must all ask ourselves this question. Should the government allow charities to avoid auditing because they do not agree that they should be? If that is how it works, I for one would would like to announce that I do not agree with having my personal finances audited ever! So it is never going to happen right? Of course not!
As for the government citing “terrorism” in auditing these groups (even thought the linked article does not provide evidence of that being said). Lets first take a look at the text book definition of the word.
Terrorism: The use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims.
Many of the people in these groups including David Suzuki have been intimidating the Canadian people with claims about global warming for many years. Installing fear of climatic changes, massive storms, that we are causing untold amounts of death around the world, and that if we do not stop our current lifestyles. The problems will not be fixable and our future generations are going to live in a hellish world and probably die. We must accept the political change to prevent that.
Sounds like intimidation to create political change, to me.
Many of these charities also support group like the deep green resistance. Who advocates and encourages action like: Tree spiking, blowing up damns and pipelines, and openly call for destruction of western society.
Sounds like violence to me as well.
I am not going to argue the point on if that perceived apocalyptic future true or not. Only use it as an example of how their rhetoric and actions fit into the definition of terrorism.
I will also make this very clear. I do not support the current state of our government, and do not like the “catch all” use of the term terrorism. But when one starts to look at the big picture and thinks about it logically instead of emotionally. Some things become very clear.
The CRA laws that limit charities abilities to fund political groups or candidates is there for a very good reason. I will use Tides Canada to explain why.
Tides Canada is a division of Tides U.S.A. Its main funding comes from globalists like George Soros. Who has used many charitable organizations in his pillaging of countless Asian and Eastern Block countries. He offers the charities massive amounts of funding, as long as they are willing to push for the agenda that he wants. Regardless of what it does to their own country or people. After his goals have been met, we walks away with billions of dollars and the country left in ruins.
The C.I.A has a very well documented history of using the exact same tactics to overthrow foreign governments. Flooding charitable foundations with money, with the goal of over throwing the government of a foreign nation.
In my opinion Canadians should be open to these audits of charitable foundations, when complaints have been filed. Just to make sure that foreign people or governments are not setting our nations future from the shadows.

You would hope they would also audit the company making the complaint lol , Read the book cold terror it puts a whole new light on NGO’S and goverments and corporations who use them .
