Protestors In France Stand Up Against Eco Tyranny

More than 10,000 people took to the streets in Breton city of Quimper to protest a purposed “eco tax” by Frances socialist government.

The eco tax is a planned environmental tax on trucks, set to bring in about 1 billion euros ($1.38 billion) per year to help finance mostly rail projects. (Sound familiar? It should! Metrolinx has been purposing the same type of taxation schemes in Ontario to fund similar projects.)

Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault announced the suspension of the eco tax, but protestors have vowed to continue until the plan is dismantled.

Here are several video reports of the protests.
