Over the past 70 years we have seen a drastic change in our society. Yes our technology has quickly advanced, fad’s have come and gone, wars have been fought. And yes, thanks to the internet people are beginning to learn our true history and learn more valuable information quicker than ever before. But none of these are what I call humanities “big shift”.
Back in my grandparents era, people took care of themselves. They grew their own food, took care of their land, helped their communities, and raised their families. The people took responsibility for themselves and their actions. Government’s in the western world did not meddle in the personal lives of the people. Because the people did not allow it! But today, this has almost totally been reversed.
Right before our very eyes we are witnessing the creation of a society, that is made up of grown up children. Unable to provide for themselves, unable or unwilling to take care of their communities, and totally devoid of personal responsibilities.
This became more evident in the Occupy and student protests that have spread across Canada in the last year. Both began with just ideals. But quickly turned into movements that where demanding more government. Free services, more taxation, and less personal responsibility.
Our society is demanding more and more from our governments and less from ourselves. In essence, demanding that out “father” figure the government take control of more and more. So that we do not have to. New laws and taxes are being formulated to adhere to this new demand.
We also see this with corporations along with governments.
And with everyday that passes we are seeing more of it. For example, today I was browsing the news stories online and came across this “gem”.
“The president of Peg Perego Canada Inc. made the comments after Health Canada insisted the company issue a recall Monday of 26,000 older models of the Peg Perego Pliko P3 and Venezia strollers due to a strangulation hazard. They were manufactured in Italy between 2004 and 2007.
There have been no reports of any incidents involving the recalled Peg Perego strollers in Canada and they meet all current safety regulations, Health Canada said Monday in the recall notice.
The recall follows a larger U.S. recall last Tuesday, when the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Peg Perego USA announced the recall of 230,000 Venezia and Pliko-P3 strollers manufactured between 2004 and 2007, reporting that a six-month-old baby died in California in 2004 after his head became trapped between the seat and the tray.”

So although the strollers meet Canada’s safety guidelines. They have forcibly recalled, because one child died in one. In another country. Basically laying blame on the corporation, when in reality that child’s death is the responsibility of the parents. As a parent myself I can say with total conviction that. If the parents of that 6 month old child left him/her unattended long enough to fall into that position, and then be strangled. Well that has nothing to do with the stroller or the company.
The gun violence in Toronto this summer is another shinning example. Toronto city councilors (and the people) have called for gun bans, bullet bans, etc. Laying blame on an inanimate object. For crimes and murders. It is by definition, insanity.
I could rant for hours about all of the examples. As I am sure many of you could. The bottom line is this. The financial crisis, corruption of government, loss of rights, globalization, loss of employment, etc. Is not the governments, big banks, or corporations faults.
The blame lays at the feet of myself, you, and everyone else! We have allowed it to happen. In fact many of us have demanded for it to happen.
Do even even think about facts like this one: Canada’s population is around 33 million and we have over 6 million laws and bylaws. Is that not insane? Is that not just a little bit of government overkill?
If we truly want to change this world we must simply do what people did for thousands of years. Learn from our elders! Our grandparents and great grandparents showed us how to be responsible. They showed us how to be self dependent and not need the government to be our “savior” for every little problem we face.
It is time for all of us to grow up and take responsibility for our actions or be destined for a tyrannical take over that we have brought onto ourselves!
Those are all valid observations. We have all been dumbed down for a long time. Myself included. Yet, somehow I am waking up. the danger we are in is with me from the moment I wake in the morning. I keep trying to warn people. Most but not all look at me as if I’m crazy. You can’t help everyone. Just keep telling people what you know.
Some will listen.
Did you forget that the general public is being dumbed down (vaccines, fluoride, psychotropic drugs), hypnotized (TV), brainwashed (suggestion on TV, advertisements, school curriculum etc), propagandized (mainstream media) and otherwise herded mentally? There is some blame, yes… but please DO remember that there are other factors to this whole mess!!! There is lots of info on all this, including a recent Harvard study linking fluoride to lowered IQ in children… Hard to fight for your future, and even to see the tyrants tricks when you have a lowered IQ and have been indoctrinated from early school years up… I really do wonder what I would be like if I had never drank fluoride… the damage now, I think, is permanent… and that angers me. I WANT to be healthy but they keep pumping poison into the water and putting it into the food!!!
