Could Dandelion Root Help Fight Cancer

Come spring time, it has quickly become a tradition of ours to learn and practice foraging. One of the first tea’s that I tried from foraged herbs was dandelion root and stinging nettle. It is still my favorite to this day (just need to be careful picking the stinging nettle lol).

Dandelion root is good for the bladder, spleen, pancreas, stomach and intestines. It’s recommended for stressed-out, internally sluggish, and sedentary people. Anyone who’s a victim of excessive fat, white flour, and concentrated sweeteners could benefit from a daily cup of dandelion tea.

Now research into dandelions effects on cancer is receiving more funding at a southern Ontario university.

“A researcher in Canada enjoyed a grant increase as he and his research team look to continue studying dandelion root extract with a view to finding a cure for cancer. Dr. Siyaram Pandey, skeptical initially, now feels they may be on to something.
A biochemist at the University of Windsor, Dr. Pandey has been involved in other cancer research projects and did not himself begin to consider dandelion root extract as a cancer fighter but had the idea brought to him. He’s had positive results and has been given an additional $157,000 to continue his study of the extract.”

Nature has given us all of the medicines that we need. But sadly because there is no profits for big pharma involved, this has not been taught for several generations now. We all have the power to change this. It does not take fighting our government (yet), protesting, petitioning, or anything of that nature. Just some simple reading and getting out into nature.

Here are some great sites to check out foraging and the benifits.
