Peter Van Loan: Parliament More Civil With A Majority
Government House Leader Peter Van Loan predicts a majority setting will make the new Parliament more civil than its predecessor, giving politicians from all parties more opportunity to focus on the issues.
Van Loan told reporters Thursday that with the Tories now holding majority control of the House of Commons, there will be no more threat of a snap election hanging over parliamentarians’ heads like a “guillotine.”

Really? Parliament will have less of the heated debates over the issue’s that effect Canadians the most, with a majority government. And that is a good thing? Well I guess it is for Stephen Harper and the Tories.
When Bill C-51 gets pushed through (along with the other two cyber security bills), C.E.T.A. is negotiated, and all of the revelations from the North American security perimeter start to come out. They will not even have to debate it! The NDP, the official opposition party has already shown us how willing they are to stand up (bill C-36 is a perfect example). The liberals will have next to no impact. So who is left? Who can stop the Tories and what they plan to do?
